A Royal Szállónál

A képen az egykori budapesti Royal Nagyszálló utcai frontja látható. A homlokzat az 1961-ben végett ért átalakítás utáni állapotot mutatja. A felvételen balra, távolabb a hotelhez tartozó Pálmakert Grill bejárata látszik, középen a szálló bejáratát védő előtető, jobbra tőle a hotelben egy épületben, de attól függetlenül működő Vörös Csillag mozi bejárati része látható. Jól láthatóak a portálok neonfeliratai is. Ebben az időszakban, egészen 1991-es bezárásáig a HungarHotels üzemeltette a nagyszállót. A szálloda épülete melletti ház földszintjén egy Cipő Szalon portálja fedezhető fel a fotón.

The picture shows the street-front of the former Royal Grand Hotel in Budapest. The facade shows the state of the building after its renovation in 1961. To the left, a bit further, is the entrance to the Palm Garden Grill of the hotel, with the canopy protecting the entrance to the hotel in the middle, and to the right the entrance to the Red Star Cinema, which was housed in the same building as the hotel but operated independently. The neon signs on the portals are also clearly visible. During this period, until its closure in 1991, the hotel was run by HungarHotels. On the ground floor of the building next to the hotel building, a portal of a Shoe Salon can be seen in the photo.
