Renovated in 1973 to the 100th anniversary of the unification of the quarters Pest-Buda-Óbuda, the delicately elegant Angelika Café opened in the basement of a three-and-a-half-century old listed building. It soon became the gathering place of writers, poets and great performers interpreting their works here. This discreetly elegant yet homely place was more than a literary café: a tiny empire of spirit and art.
