Különböző műszaki szaküzletek felvételeinek egyike. A képen az Otthon Áruház belső részlete látható. A második szinten a méteráru osztály, az első szinten vasáru, a földszinten villamossági osztály háztartási gépei, készülékei láthatóak. A dátumok a leltárkönyv alapján. A 74. One of the photos of various technical shops. The picture shows an interior detail of the Home Department Store. On the second floor you can see the yard goods department, on the first floor the hardware department and on the ground floor the household appliances of the electricity department. The dates are based on the inventory book. The facade, which has been reconstructed, was built between 1914 and 1915, presumably on commission of merchant Márk Rosenberg. The ground floor and high floors in the house were designed for business use originally. The Hungarian Fashion Hall store, which moved into the building in 1921, occupied the entire width of the building on the ground floor and mezzanine floor in 1925. The department store was completely rebuilt in 1928, the conversion and the new equipment can be attributed to the name of architect and craftsman Lajos Kozma (1884-1948). The courtyard was covered with a glass roof, with which a large sales hall was obtained. Of the three floors thus obtained, the warehouses were in the basement, and the sale was on the ground floor and the gallery level on the mezzanine floor. The finished store was luxurious and modern, with mirror, marble and bronze surfaces, and even a checkered or patterned rubber floor. The concept of the store was a novelty in Hungary at that time. Like the other big shops on Rákóczi Road, the Home had a unique theme: the home itself. It was the first comprehensive home furnishing store in the country to offer well-variable unit furniture to smaller homes, especially housing estates, to replace the previous cumbersome, massive, oppressive furniture ideas. However, in addition to the furniture, customers also found all the essential accessories here, so the store seemed to be a successful business in the early years. By the period of the change of regime, the change in customer habits proved to be fatal for Otthon as well, the loss-making store was permanently closed in July 2020.
