Bauer Sándor, a kép készítője; 1946-ban került az MTI-n belül működő Magyar Film Irodához fotóriporternek, majd 1957-től a Vendéglátás magazin munkatársa volt. Több mint négy évtizedes pályájának hagyatéka mintegy húszezer, nagyrészt negatívban fennmaradt fotó.

Az Istvántelki Főműhely egykor az egyik legfontosabb vasúti járműjavító műhely volt Magyarországon. A főműhely Istvántelken, Budapest IV. kerületének egy városrészében található, külön megállója is van. Ma a csarnokok nagy részét lebontották; amit nem, ott a gaz burjánzik. A vasutas érából már csupán a motorkocsi szín és a gőzösműhely maradt. Pedig a háború után immár Landler Jenő Járműjavító néven működő műhelyben is volt munka, bár a gőzmozdonyok kiszorulásával egyre csökkent. Az üzemben egyre kevesebben dolgoztak, később felmerült egy olyan ötlet is, hogy az Északi műhely szerepét átvenné a Landler Járműjavító, de ezt később elvetették, azóta sajnos az Északi Főműhely is megszűnt. wikipedia

Istvántelki Főműhely (main workshop of Istvántelek) was once one of the most important railway vehicle repair workshops in Hungary. The main workshop in Istvántelek is located in a part of the 4th district of Budapest, and has a separate stop. Today, most of the halls were demolished; what was not, the weeds proliferate there. From the railway era, only the engine barn and the locomotive workshop remained. After the war, there was work in the workshop then named Jenő Landler Vehicle Repair, although it decreased with the displacement of steam locomotives. Fewer and fewer people worked at the workshop, and later the idea arose that Landler Vehicle Repair would take over the role of the Northern Workshop, but this was later discarded, and since then, unfortunately, the Northern Workshop has also ceased to exist.
