Imhotep szobrocskája
A szobortöredék Imhotepet ábrázolja, aki történeti személy volt: ő tervezte és építtette a Kr. e. III. I. évezredben azonban már isteni kultuszban is részesítették.
Imhotep's figure represented in a sculpt fragment. He was a historical person: he designed and constructed the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, who ruled in the middle of the third millennium B.C. His legend survived after his death: he was honoured as a wise man and magician and was also regarded as a god in the first millennium B.C. He was thought to transmit people's wishes to gods and intercedes for them successfully. He is represented as a sitting penman holding papyrus on his lap.
