Huszadik alkalommal adták át Magyarország, és egyben a közép-európai régió legrangosabb természetfotós szakmai megmérettetését az Év Természetfotósa díjat az elmúlt év novemberében. A „GDF SUEZ – Az Év Természetfotósa 2012” legjobb képeiből a hagyományoknak megfelelően a Magyar Természettudományi Múzeumban rendeztek lélegzetelállító kiállítást, amely megnyitó ünnepségén, 2012. november 6-án adták át a pályázat díjait is. Az Év Természetfotósának járó plakettet a jubileumi pályázaton Daróczi Csaba vehette át – aki egyúttal Az Év Természetfotója kitüntetést is kiérdemelte –, Az Év Ifjú Természetfotósa Kurucz Ádám, míg Az Év Búvárfotósa Pohl András lett. A kiváló pályázati anyag ebben az évben is Debrecenbe „érkezett”. Az alkotások június 5-től (szerda) 21-ig a DMK Belvárosi Galériájában (Kossuth u. 1.) hétköznapokon 10-18 óráig, szombatonként 14-18 óráig tekinthették meg.
