Portrait of Mr. Sándor Matlekovits (Pest, 12 October 1842 - Budapest, 30 November 1925), legal professional, writer on economy and trade, politician, university teacher, Member of the Hungarian Academy of Science (correspondent member - 1873, regular member - 1910, directorial member - 1925), organizer of the Trade Exhibition in 1873, later secretary of the Millenium Exhibition in 1896. Suggested the establishment of the Museum of Trade and Commerce in Budapest. Organized the industrial supervision institution, practical industrial vocational training, cultural engineering, silk farming, and the Museum of Commerce. Created the Industry, Water Law, and Mining Act. President of the National Industrial Association and the Hungarian Economic Society, President of the 1885 national exhibition, and for his work he received the middle cross of the Order of St. Stephen.
