A monográfia a Magyarországról kitelepített, majd visszatért németek történetét dolgozza fel. Egyrészt a források alapján föltárja a történeti okokat, körülményeket, s a folyamatot. Másrészt az interjúk segítségével a személyes illetve közösségi emlékezetben elfoglalt helyét dolgozza fel.

The monography reveals the history of relocated and returned Germans. On the one hand, it reveals the historical causes, circumstances and the process itself based on the sources. On the other hand, it reveals its place in personal and public memory by means of interviews.
