Pest, a hatvani városkapu - képeslap. A Hatvani kapu a pesti városfal egy része volt, amely a mai Kossuth Lajos utca (egykor Hatvani utca) és a mai Rákóczi út (egykor a Kerepesi út része) között állt, a mai Astoria aluljáró helyén. Amikor a 18. század végén Pest városa rohamos fejlődésnek indult, a terjeszkedésnek csakhamar a gátjává vált a városfal, amely szinte elzárta azt a külvilágtól. Előbb új átjárókat nyitottak, majd megkezdték a bástyarendszer és a városfal eltüntetését. A városkapuk közül utoljára került sorra a Hatvani kapu, amelyet 1808-ban bontottak le.

The Hatvan Gate was a part of the Pest city wall, which stood between today's Kossuth Lajos Street (formerly Hatvani Street) and today's Rákóczi Road (formerly Kerepesi Road), on the site of today's Astoria subway. When the city of Pest began to develop rapidly at the end of the 18th century, the city wall soon became a barrier to expansion, almost isolating it from the outside world. First, new passages were opened, and then the disappearance of the bastion system and the city wall began. The last one of the city gates was the Hatvan Gate, which was demolished in 1808.
