A szálloda tulajdonosa, vélhetően a hotel homlokzatán is olvasható Mayer Imre volt. A település a képeslap kiadásának vélhető időpontjában Magyarországhoz tartozott.

The picture page of the postcard shows a detail of the Grand Hotel Mayer Vigadó in Újvidék (on the former Ferenc József Square). The dining area in the front, the mezzanine level in the background. The attentive observer can even read the advertisements: a newspaper subscription in the Park Stock Exchange, an advertisement for the Zurich Store, gloves from Pécs, János Böhm the shoemaker. The owner of the hotel was, presumably, Imre Mayer, whose name can be read on the hotel façade. The settlement was part of Hungary at the time the postcard was probably issued. From the 1890s.
