Várhidi Attila nagyon sok fiatallal találkozhatott színházszervezői és rendezői pályafutása során. Hihetetlen, de már 35 éve, hogy útjára indult az Alföld Gyermekszínpad, s alig valamivel később, 1983-ban pedig a Főnix Diákszínpad is megkezdte munkáját. Tehetséges, a színház, a színpadi játék iránt vonzódó, ahhoz kedvet érző fiatalok gyűltek Várhidi Attila köré. Az évek (illetve évtizedek!) során nagyon sok fiatallal foglalkozott, s nagyon sokféle előadást vittek közösen színre. Shakespeare vagy Milne művei csak úgy előkerültek az általa vezetett színpadoknál, mint ahogy kortárs szerzők alkotásai is. Várhidi Attila nagyon jó szívvel gondol vissza a diákszínpadosokra, s nagyon büszke arra, hogy sok jó nevű, tehetséges művész került ki az Alföldből illetve a Főnixből. Magyar Attila, Kálloy Molnár Péter, Hajdú Szabolcs, Bacskó Tünde, Pohly Boglárka – a sort hosszasan lehetne folytatni. Mint Várhidi Attila felidézi, volt, amikor majdnem százan jelentkeztek, amikor felvételt hirdetett. A jubileum mindenesetre nagyon szép, s mint Várhidi Attila elmondta, igyekszenek megadni a módját: október 12-én 14 órakor a DMK Belvárosi Közösségi Házának Pódiumtermében nagy találkozót tartanak, ahol jelen lesznek a régi gyermek- és diákszínpadosok. A program – melyen köszöntőt Dánielfy Zsolt mond – egyrészt a két színpad jubileumi műsorából, majd az azt követő baráti találkozóból áll majd.
