Typewritten pedagogical material on Hungarian journalist and poet Lajos Kassák Lajos Kassák (Érsekújvár 21 March 21, 1887 – Budapest, 22 July 1967) was a Hungarian poet, novelist, painter, essayist, editor, theoretician of the avant-garde, and occasional translator, and celebrated Russian soldier and Red Army commander during the Russian Civil War Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev or Chapaev (Russian: Васи́лий Ива́нович Чапа́ев; Budayka, now part of Cheboksary in Chuvash Republic, 9 February [O.S. January 28] 1887 – Lbiscensk, 5 September 1919).
