Bauer Sándor, a kép készítője; 1946-ban került az MTI-n belül működő Magyar Film Irodához fotóriporternek, majd 1957-től a Vendéglátás magazin munkatársa volt. Több mint négy évtizedes pályájának hagyatéka mintegy húszezer, nagyrészt negatívban fennmaradt fotó.

A Szent Márton-dóm vagy ismertebb nevén a Koronázó templom Pozsony legismertebb és legnagyobb temploma. Háromhajós gótikus templom, amely az eredeti román stílusú templom helyére épült. Építése a 13. században kezdődött. Mai alakja többszöri átépítés eredménye, ugyanis háborúk és földrengések során többször megsérült. A dóm tornya 85 méteres, a legmagasabb Pozsonyban. A tetején van a Szent Korona másolata. A képen látható neológ zsinagóga mára nyomtalanul eltűnt. Az 1970-es években az új híd építésekor a Hal téren lerombolták a még álló neológ zsinagógát és a környéken álló házakat. ( hu.wikipedia.org)

St. Martin's Cathedral or better known as the Coronation Church is the most famous and largest church in Pozsony (Bratislava). A three-nave Gothic church built on the site of the original Romanesque style church. Its construction began in the 13th century. Its present shape is the result of several reconstructions, as it was damaged several times during wars and earthquakes. The tower of the cathedral is 85 meters high, the highest in Bratislava. A copy of the Hungarian Holy Crown can be found on the top of it. The neolog synagogue in the picture has disappeared without a trace. During the construction of the new bridge in the 1970s, the still standing Neolog Synagogue and the houses in the area were demolished on Hal Square.
