Benedek pápa kinevezi Magyarország Katonai Ordináriusává. Beiktatása 2009. január 09.-én volt a Szent István Bazilikában Budapesten. - A Magyar Katolikus Püspöki Kar családreferense. On 21 May, 1994, he was consecrated as bishop in the Kecskemét Co-Cathedral. From 1st June, 1994 to 1st August, 1995, he was the Deputy Archbishop of Kalocsa-Kecskemét, and also the coordinator of the Synod of the Archdiocese (1995-2000). - Since 1996, the rector of the Central Institute for Priest’s Education in Budapest. - 20 November, 2008 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Military Ordinary for Hungary.
