Márta István, a rendezvény főigazgatója a megnyitón arról beszélt, hogy anyagi okok miatt a korábbi hat helyett idén három Balaton felvidéki községben Kapolcson, Taliándörögdön és Vigántpetenden zajlik a fesztivál. Idén tíz napon át kilencven helyszínen, mintegy 1800 programon vehetnek részt az érdeklődők. A felhőszakadás ellenére már az első estén több száz látogató volt a Művészetek Völgyében...”

The InfoRadio programme broadcast in the summer of 2011 included the following: "The 21st Valley of Arts Festival has begun in Kapolcs. At the opening ceremony, István Márta, director general of the event, said that for financial reasons the festival will be held in Kapolcs, Taliándörögd and Vigántpetend instead of the previous six villages in the Balaton Highlands. This year, the festival will be held in ninety venues over ten days, with around 1,800 activities. István Márta highlighted the performances of composer László Dés and writer Péter Esterházy, and pointed to the new Kaláka Poetry Court, where music and poetry will be combined. Among others, the Kaláka Ensemble, Károly Mécs, Dorka Gryllus, György Ferenczi and Rackajam will perform. The Budapest Ragtime Band will be among the performers at the Völgy Jazz Mini Festival, as well as the Amadinda Percussion Ensemble and Levente Szörényi. Despite the downpour, hundreds of visitors came to the Valley of Arts on the first night..."
