Bauer Sándor, a kép készítője; 1946-ban került az MTI-n belül működő Magyar Film Irodához fotóriporternek, majd 1957-től a Vendéglátás magazin munkatársa volt. Több mint négy évtizedes pályájának hagyatéka mintegy húszezer, nagyrészt negatívban fennmaradt fotó.

1911-ben indult meg a városon belüli szakaszon a villamosforgalom. A villamosállomány az 1920-as években a motorkocsik átalakításával tovább gyarapodott. A kisvasúton az átrakó állomás (MÁV Bérház) és a Bessenyei tér (ma Hősök tere) között sűrűbb (10 perces körüli gyakoriságú) villamosforgalom bonyolódott. A Bessenyei téren lehetett átszállni a Sóstó irányába induló villamosokra, melyek ritkábban közlekedtek csak. Hiába volt azonban a nagy utasforgalom, az olcsó üzemanyag miatt a 60-as években az erőltetett motorizáció a nyíregyházi villamosközlekedés végét jelentette. Az utolsó kocsi 1969. május 31-én gördült végig a városon. Ma egy kiállított villamoson nosztalgiázhatnak az érdeklődők, a Hősök terén. (hvg.hu, villamosok.hu)

A picture from the photo collection of photographer Sándor Bauer who was the photo reporter of the Hungarian Film Office (belonged to MTI) as of 1946, and the employee of magazine Vendéglátás as of 1957. His legacy is about 20 thousand photos, mainly in negative.

A tram in front of the City Council's building in Nyíregyháza. In 1911, tram traffic started within the city of Nyíregyháza. The tram fleet continued to grow in the 1920s with the conversion of motor cars. On the light rail between the transhipment station (MÁV Bérház) and Bessenyei Square (today Heroes' Square) there was more frequent tram traffic (around 10 minutes). On Bessenyei Square, it was possible to change to trams in the direction of Sóstó, which ran less frequently. However, despite the large passenger traffic, the forced motorization in the 1960s meant the end of tram transport in Nyíregyháza, due to cheap fuel. The last tram rolled through the city on 31 May, 1969. Today, those interested can nostalgize on an exhibited tram on the Heroes' Square.
