Pierre Cardin 1949-ben alapította divatházát. A női divatot elegánsabbá, testhezállóbbá tette, mégis a férfiak ruhájának forradalmasítójaként tartották számon. Hazai vonatkozás, hogy a Malév és a Hungarotext ruhaipari cég közösen kereste meg a Pierre Cardin divatházat azzal, hogy gyártsák le a Malév új egyenruháit.

Fashion designer Pierre Cardin founded his fashion house in 1949. He made women's fashion more elegant and form-fitting, yet he was seen as a revolutionary in men's clothing. In the Hungarian context, Malév and the clothing company Hungarotext jointly requested the fashion house Pierre Cardin to produce Malév's new uniforms.
