1938. május 31-én országjáró körútra indult az "aranyvonat". Három éven át vitte magával a Szent Jobbot pontos menetrend alapján, számos magyar települést felkeresve.

A legenda szerint István király szentté avatása alkalmából, 1083-ban I. Szent László király emeltette ki az uralkodó holttestét a székesfehérvári sírból, ahol a király jobb kezét épen találták, ezért ereklyeként megőrizték. A középkortól a török időkig Nagyvárad közelében, egy monostorban helyezték el, emlékét egy Szentjobb nevű település őrzi. A török hódoltság idején Bosznián át Dalmáciába került, sokáig a raguzai (ma: Dubrovnik) domonkosok őrizték. Mária Teréziának 1771-ben sikerült visszaszereznie, az ereklyét előbb Schönbrunnban, majd Budán őrizték. A fényképen is látható egyik állomás része volt, annak az ünnepségsorozatnak, ami május 30-án, a Budapesten rendezett Eucharisztikus világkongresszus lezárulta után kezdődött. On 31 May 1938, the "gold train" set off on a cross-country tour. For three years, it carried the Holy Right on a precise schedule, visiting many Hungarian settlements.

According to legend, on the occasion of the canonisation of King Stephen in 1083, King Saint Ladislaus I. had the body of the monarch exhumed from the tomb in Székesfehérvár, where the king's right hand was found intact and preserved as a relic. From the Middle Ages to the Ottoman period, he was placed in a monastery near Nagyvárad, and his memory is preserved in a settlement called Szentjobb. During the Ottoman occupation, it passed through Bosnia to Dalmatia, where it was kept for many years by the Dominicans of Ragusa (now Dubrovnik). Maria Theresa managed to recover it in 1771 and the relic was kept first in Schönbrunn and then in Buda. The photo shows one of the stations in the series of celebrations that began on 30 May, after the conclusion of the World Eucharistic Congress in Budapest.
