During the demonstration in Wenceslas Square, László Pesty, the cameraman of the Fekete Doboz (Black Box), is detained by the Czechoslovak authorities. The detained Hungarians are partly tourists and partly employees of various news agencies. Foreign observers unanimously agree that the police were extremely brutal, and that several of the detainees were physically assaulted, including Tamás Deutsch and László Pesty.
