"Határnyitás" című kiállítás a Bécsben lévő Balassi Institut Collegium Hungaricum Galerie UngArt kiállítótermében, a bécsi "Disign Woche" keretén belül rendezett kiállítás a Páneurópai Piknik 25. évfordulója alkalmából. A Magyar Kereskedelmi és Vendéglátóipari Múzeum 37 darab tárgyat illetve dokumentumot kölcsönzött a kiállítás részére. A kiállítás meghívója, prospektusa az MKVM Kereskedelmi Adattárában van. A kiállítás anyaga az 1980-as évek mindennapjaiba enged betekintést a határ osztrák és magyar oldalán. A középpontban álló látogató éppen egy európai sorsfordító történelmi eseményről készült fotó poszterén álldogál (tapos), miközben okostelefonján próbál digitális fényképet készíteni. Hiába így múlik el a világ dicsősége - Sic transit gloria mundi. Maga a történelmi esemény nem más mint a vasfüggöny jelképes szétvágása 1989. június 27-én (azért jelképes, mert már addigra jórészt a határőrség lebontotta). A kelet és nyugat közt húzódó határ átvágása egy sor nem várt esemény bekövetkeztével járt, és végül a berlini fal leomlásához vezető út első lépése volt. Amely nélkül elképzelhetetlen lett volna Európa újraegyesülése az Európai Unió égisze alatt.

The exhibition "Opening the Border" was an exhibition on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Pan-European Picnic in the exhibition hall of the Balassi Institut Collegium Hungaricum Galerie UngArt in Vienna as part of the "Disign Woche" in Vienna. The Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism lent 37 objects and documents for the exhibition. The invitation and brochure of the exhibition are in the Commercial Database of MKVM. The material of the exhibition gives an insight into the everyday life of the 1980s on the Austrian and Hungarian sides of the border. The focused visitor is standing on the poster of a photo of a historical event in Europe while trying to take a digital photo with her smartphone. This is how the glory of the world passes away - Sic transit gloria mundi. The historical event itself is the symbolic cutting of the Iron Curtain on 27 June, 1989 (symbolic because it was largely demolished by the border guards by then). The cutting of the border between East and West was accompanied by a series of unexpected events and was finally the first step on the road to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Without which the reunification of Europe under the aegis of the European Union would have been unimaginable.
