Dr. Varga Csaba magyar jogfilozófus, Pécsett nagypolgári családban született. Az általa összegyűjtött fényképeken nemcsak a család, hanem a nagyapja által alapított cég, a Varga Gyula Autókarosszéria- és Kocsigyár is megelevenedik.

1936. július 29-én, szerdán reggel futottak át a staféta tagjai Győrött a berlini olimpiai lánggal. nyolc óra sem volt még, amikor kerékpárosraj viharzott az országzászló elé, ahol oltár várta a Tüzet. — Jön, jönnek — lelkesedtek a hírrel érkezők s amikorra, a várakozók hatalmas csoportja körülgyűrűzte az országzászlót, meg is érkezett sportruhásan, kezében a lobogó Tűzzel Pfannl Jenő, az autóklub elnöke. Az egyik hölgyfutótól, Dukesz Mártától vette át a díszesművű tartóba helyezett fáklyát, amivel azután fellobbantották az oltár kanócát.” (Győri Hírlap, 1936. 07. 30.) Győrben pedig páratlan esemény történt. A Fehérhajó szálloda épülete a második világháborúban, olyan súlyos sérüléseket szenvedett, hogy elbontásra került. Helyén egy ötemeletes ház áll, aminek a földszintjén a K&H Bank helyi fiókja található.

The Fehérhajó (White Boat) Hotel building was so badly damaged in World War II that it was demolished. In its place, today (2017) there is a five-storey house. On the ground floor of it, there is a local branch of K&H Bank.
