Az elsőt, akárcsak a későbbiekben a fúrások során felszínre törő forrásokat, egy-egy görög istenségről nevezték el. Időbeni sorrendben Themisz, Hygiea, Neptunus. A bővizű forrásokra alapozva kezdte el a fürdőhely fejlesztését a Rima-Murányi Társaság 1888-tól. Ekkor épült fel számos szálloda és fürdőház, valamint kezdődött el a parkosítás. A képeslap kiadása idején Magyarországhoz tartozott.
