A Kárpátia étterem belső teréről készült képeslap. Elegánsan terített asztalok, nádazott támlájú székek, boltíves mennyezet. 1877-ben, az újonnan épült Ferenciek bazárjában Holzwarth György vett bérbe egy helyiséget étterem céljára, mely Csalányi Károly vezetésével hamar népszerűvé vált Budapesten. 1925-ben a Spolarich család vette meg és a kor ismert művészeinek (pl: Pándy Lajos festőművész, Palka József ólomüveg-készítő, Linger Károly bútoros) bevonásával felújíttatta. Az így kialakított termek egyike, a Zeneterem látható a képen. Az étteremnek egyedülálló a belső tere, mely a magyar gótikát és a török elleni harcokat idézi. 1934-ben Károlyi László vette bérbe és adta az étteremnek a Kárpátia nevet. A Kárpátia 1949-ben került állami tulajdonba, 1957-ben pedig a HungarHotels lánc része lett. Berendezését a művelődési miniszter védetté nyilvánította, 1979-ben felújították. A privatizáció után 1997 októberében Dr. Niklai Ákos vette meg, hogy Budapest újra elismert vendéglátóhelyévé tegye. Ma (2016-ban) a Kárpátia Étterem és Söröző 6 teremmel üzemel.

In 1877, in the newly built Ferenciek bazaar, György Holzwarth rented a room for a restaurant, which quickly became popular in Budapest under the management of Károly Csalányi. In 1925, the Spolarich family bought it and had it renovated with the help of well-known artists of the time (e.g. painter Lajos Pándy, stained glass maker József Palka, furniture maker Károly Linger). One of the rooms thus created, the music hall, can be seen in the picture. The interior of the restaurant is unique, reminiscent of Hungarian Gothic and the battles against the Ottomans. In 1934, László Károlyi rented the restaurant and gave it the name Kárpátia. In 1949, it was taken over by the state and in 1957 it became part of the HungarHotels chain. Its furnishings were declared protected by the Minister of Culture and it was renovated in 1979. After privatisation, it was bought by Dr. Ákos Niklai in October 1997 to make it a renowned restaurant of Budapest again. Today (in 2016) the Kárpátia Restaurant and Pub has six rooms.
