A képen Kugler és Gerbeaud cukrászdák története elevenedik meg korabeli dokumentumok által. Az üzlet története Kugler Henrikkel kezdődik, amikor 1858-ban megalapítja cukrászdáját a József nádor téren. 1870-ben átköltözött az akkori Gizella térre (a későbbi Vörösmarty tér). Utódja nem lévén, a Párizsban megismert Gerbeaud Emilnek adta át a vállalkozás vezetését 1884-ben, aki 1919-ben bekövetkezett haláláig irányította. Halála után özvegye Ramseyer Eszter, 1940-ig vett részt a cukrászda vezetésében. 1948-ban államosították és Vörösmarty Cukrászda néven 1984-ig fogadta az édesszájú vendégeit. Azóta újból Gerbeaud az elnevezése és változatlanul a budapesti belváros szívében lévő Vörösmarty téren várja a cukrászsütemények szerelmeseit.

Exhibition of the history of Kugler and Gerbeaud confectioneries organized by the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism in Budapest in 1983. A permanent exhibition entitled "The History of the Hungarian Confectionery Industry 1884-1996". The history of the company begins with Henrik Kugler when he founded his confectionery in 1858 on József Nádor Square. In 1870, he moved to the then Gizella Square (later Vörösmarty Square). As he did not have a successor, he handed over the management of the business to Emil Gerbeaud in 1884, whom he had met in Paris, and who ran the confectionery until his death in 1919. After his death, his widow Eszter Ramseyer was the leader of the confectionery until 1940. It was nationalized in 1948 and received its guests until 1984 under the name Vörösmarty Confectionery. It was renamed Gerbeaud after that, and it still waits for confectionery lovers in Vörösmarty Square of Budapest city centre.
