Texture, structure and the context in the consecutive interpereting In this article r analyse consecutive interpreting from a text linguistic point of view. Its aim is to draw attention to the textual characteristics of a sample speech by way of examining its texture, structure and context, the major dimensions of textuality. In consecutive interpreting structure is dominant to the other two, which is also shown by the deletion and addition of source text elements in the target text. On textural level the target text might considerably differ without the message being lost. On structural level, however, changes effect the success of message transmission. The problems related to accessibility of the original context may result in complete loss of context in the target text.
