Fővárosi és vidéki új és régi, kis és nagy üzletek étlapjainak, menülapjainak, árlapjainak kivitele az 1960-as évek óta elérték a nemzetközi szintet. A köztudattal ellentétben a ma szinte "kötelező" borítókat csak az 1950-es évek második felétől alkalmazzák. A rotaprint eljárás elterjedése, és a fóliázás ugrásszerűen emelte a nyomtatványok színvonalát. A former exhibition of the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism about the history of menu cards. The design of the menus, menu cards and price lists of new and old, small and large restaurants in the capital and the countryside reached the international level in the 1960s. Contrary to popular belief, covers that are almost "mandatory" today have only been used since the second half of the 1950s. The spread of the rotaprint process and the foiling have dramatically improved the quality of the prints.
